Home is where people live and spend time together. A cocoon is like a home; the art pieces on this floor are crafted to resemble the famous, silky case of a cocoon. As this floor is a living space dedicated to leisure activities such as lounging, reading and enjoying light refreshments, we wanted it to evoke warmth, protection and a safe sanctuary.
Like a warm and loving home that is adorned with family photos and memorable snapshots, this space is decorated with framed photographs and paintings of nature. From trees to insects, the imagery adds an artistic touch and warm elegance to the area, with an eclectic touch that resembles a living room. Mismatched love and memories.
Using paper-mâché to create different textures and shapes, these collages are inspired by welcoming libraries with rows and rows of books. Like how every book depicts a story, each art piece tells its own tale. We wanted this space to intrigue and encourage guests to unwind, relax and find themselves between pages.
Likewise, inspired by the never-ending rows of bookshelves, these boxes are designed to hold imaginary books. In between, there are sculptures of individuals engulfed in books. The concept seeks to inspire one to pick up a book and get lost in the literary world.
